Lair of the Golden Bear

From Rick:

One of the really great things we've done as an annual family tradition is to attend the Lair of the Golden Bair (aka Cal Camp). We've gone to Camp Gold, week 2 for 11 years straight and have made some great friends that we get to see every year. It's up in the Sierras right down the road from the Dodge Ridge ski resort in Pinecrest, CA. It's basically run by college-age 'staffers' who do a great job at providing a wholesome family-based experience including arts & crafts, stage plays, lectures, hiking, biking, swimming, and a great sports program of volleyball, tennis, basketball and the big softball competition of camp blue vs. camp gold (Gold rules!). It's just a great and relaxing vacation for the whole family.

To go you need to be a member of the alumni association - something everyone should do anyway. February is the month to sign up. Check out their website for more details.

Big Sky Escape

big sky escape.jpgFor those of you who love to ski, but don't have the luxury of living 20 minutes from the slopes (Ben and Elliot), you can visit Darren's vacation rental in Big Sky, Montana.

In addition to getting married, going to school, and starting a family, Darren (and Bree) purchased a condo in Montana last fall. They flew out twice to decorate the home and prepare it for renters. Take a look at the photos -- they did a nice job setting it up.

Maybe we'll host a reunion event there one winter...
