We are excited to announced that the 2nd Annual Berkeley-Columbia Gala and Benefit Auction will be held on September 16, 2006 at Runnymede Farms in Woodside. Runnymede Farms is a beautiful 500 plus acre ranch nestled in the Woodside hills just off 280, where racehorses, including a Kentucky Derby winner, were bred in the early 1900's. It currently serves as an outdoor sculpture garden to display large-scale works of established artists. The program will consist of hearty hors d'ouvres, cocktails, music, and lots of networking with new friends and old. We will also have an art docent on-site to tell everyone about all the sculptures. Last, we are very pleased to announce that we already have confirmed Deans Hubbard from Columbia and Deans Campbell and Lyons from Haas.
We hope that your attendance will help insure an even better event this year than last. We look forward to seeing you all there. Please save the date.

Hey Bears Fans, the 2006 Cal Football season is quickly approaching and starting Wednesday, March 8th season tickets for new customers will go on sale for this year's much anticipated season. If you were a season ticket holder last year, but have not renewed you're season tickets for 2006 make sure you renew your tickets by the March 21st deadline. If you renewed your season tickets already please pass this email along to any family or friends so we can pack Memorial Stadium all season long!

Industry experts are joining with Haas School faculty and alumni to share their perspectives on the economic outlook and the private equity industry at the third annual West Coast Private Equity Conference on Thursday, February 16, at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco.
The conference is organized by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), San Francisco, and the Haas School of Business.
Haas School Professors Richard Lyons and Andrew Rose will take part in a debate titled, "A Look Ahead at the 2006 Economy: Recession, Inflation, Growth or Bust?" The Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum will shine its light on Israel as a case study for cross-border investing at its first event of the year on Thursday, January 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the Arthur Andersen Auditorium.
The Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum is hosted by the Haas School’s Lester Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. It meets every third Thursday of the month, starting with a lively networking session at 6:30 p.m. followed by a speaker or panel discussion.

Happy New Year!
I hope 2006 is off to a great start for everyone. In order to keep the BCEMBA community alive and well fed, we would like to have a cooking party at Tante Marie here in lovely, soggy San Francisco.
Here is some information to get your mouth watering and your fingers ready to type, "YES! I am in!!!":
At a minimum we need 20 (with a max of 30) friends for our own private cooking party. Note this is ALL about having a great time - you do not have to be a Malta Mario to enjoy yourself. The evening starts at 6:30 pm at which time we have snacks and wine. The instructor will then brief us on the evening's menu - one especially designed for our group. Then, the fun begins: tie on an apron, gather your ingredients, and get cooking. At about 8:30 pm, once we have done our sauteing and julienning, we will sit down to a terrific three-course meal. The party ends around 10:30 pm (after dessert of course!!!) - we can take home new recipes and cooking skills to impress the people in our lives who weren't able to make it.

In order to make this economical (at $100 a person, what better way to spend a night???) we need a minimum of 20 people. We are considering March 19th, a Sunday, for this event. There are also some Friday night dates, too, but after a full week of work that may be a little much.
